Laptop Loan Service
Overview of Service
The SCS Help Desk offers short-term loaner laptops free of charge to SCS-affiliated faculty, staff and graduate students. This allows our customers to continue their important work if they experience issues with their primary computer. We offer both Apple and Windows-based laptop loans for a maximum of two weeks. In addition, we offer video and ethernet adapters, power chargers and other accessories as part of our greater loan inventory. Availability is not guaranteed, so we strongly encourage you to place your reservation request via our request form.

Service Highlights
On-premise resource
We lend laptops to our SCS-affiliated community from our Help Desk, conveniently located at Gates and Hillman Centers, room 4203.
SCS-vetted loaner options
Our loaner laptops meet our standards for security and productivity performance. They are preloaded with our SCS-configured operating systems in addition to other base software such as Microsoft Office and access to the SCS public printing service.
Data security
We strongly encourage our users to copy any important data off their loaner laptop before returning, but we ensure your data is secure by performing complete wipes and fresh imaging on each and every laptop we receive and make available again to loan.

We do not charge for loaners to our SCS-affiliated community. We only enforce charges to departments/individuals due to damage or loss.
