FAQ: Laptop Loan Service

General Information

No. This service is free of charge to SCS graduate students, faculty and staff.
It is possible to extend a loan on a case by case basis. When we provide a loner laptop as part of a supported machine repair, we can provide an automatic extension if needed. Otherwise, existing scheduled loans, inventory availability and other factors determine an extension approval.
For undergrads or non-SCS students, a sponsor is required and the loan is essentially the responsibility of that sponsor (if not returned). If unable to secure a sponsor, the CS Pathways Laptop Loaner Program may be another alternative.

In addition, all of our loaners have Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Crowdstrike and Crashplan backup software preloaded. Andrew (campus) printing is not preloaded by default, but you can install it.
