Hardware Support in SCS

Overview of Service

We provide support services for the SCS community and their SCS-purchased computing hardware including desktops, laptops, and servers. We also offer Software Support for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Our hardware support services include initial deployment, maintenance, upgrades, repairs and troubleshooting to ensure these devices operate efficiently throughout their lifecycle.

For those unique and special use cases, we provide consulting services to help customers find the right solution for them and their departments. Getting Started

SCS, CMU-funded computers will be assigned an asset number. This number is used to register your new or existing SCS-owned computer for hardware support. Visit our CASE registration form to register your computer!

Our technical procurement team is available to answer questions regarding technical purchases, such as purchasing guidelines, quotes, and even equipment specifications, assessing technical requirements, hardware compatibility and more with the help of our engineering teams.

Campus deployment and installation

Need your on campus computer installed for you? We've got you. We can deliver and install your computer at your on-campus SCS office location.

 

Campus diagnosis and troubleshooting and installation

This service includes hardware troubleshooting and diagnosis. When paired with our software support service, we can keep your computer's hardware and operating system great!

 

 

Laptop loans to avoid downtime during repairs

Our hardware support service also includes a loaner laptop to get you back up and running while your computer is repaired!

Upgrades and maintenance 

Our technicians are happy to provide consulting to ensure you purchase the right upgrades for your computer. Our technical procurement office can process your order and our technical teams will perform the upgrade and ensure proper functionality.
