macOS 10.13 High Sierra - End of Life
Support Ending January 31, 2021
Updated 11/18/20
On November 12, 2020, Apple released macOS 11, Big Sur. In keeping with Apple's release cycle, we anticipate macOS 10.13 High Sierra will no longer receive security updates starting in January 2021. As a result, SCS Computing Facilities (SCSCF) is phasing out software support for all computers running macOS 10.13 High Sierra and will end support on January 31, 2021.
Please Note: At this time, we do not recommend installing Big Sur in either preview or final form until our testing is complete. Upgrading prematurely may result in potential issues. To monitor our testing progress visit our macOS Big Sur support status page. What do I need to do?
To ensure our ability to continue to support your computer after January 31, 2021, please select one of the options listed below:
- Upgrade via Self Service
If your computer meets the hardware requirements, a macOS 10.15 Catalina installation package will be available through Self Service on your SCS-supported Mac. If your system does not meet these requirements, you will not see an available upgrade package.
- Request an upgrade performed by SCSCF Technicians
If you would like to request an upgrade performed by our technicians, or do not see the macOS Catalina installation package in Self Service, please submit an upgrade request. - Remove SCSCF Software Support
If you would like to continue to run High Sierra without SCS software support, please submit a request to remove software support from your computer. - If you are no longer using this computer and would like to retire it from support, please submit a retirement request.
Please Note: If you choose not to upgrade your High Sierra computer, it will not receive security patches or functionality updates, and our ability to troubleshoot issues will be limited as of February 1, 2021.
Expect Mojave support to end in 2021
With Apple's release of macOS 11 Big Sur in late 2020, Mojave will be the third oldest version and will cease to be supported at that time. As a result, SCSCF will stop providing software support for all computers running macOS 10.14 Mojave in late 2021.
