Mac ESET Endpoint Security Expiring 12/12/21

Uninstallation is required by the expiration deadline.

SCS Computing Facilities (SCSCF) has been notified that CMU will not renew the ESET Endpoint Security App license and it will expire on December 12, 2021. 

After careful review, we have opted to use the built-in protection Apple offers in Mac systems over a third-party product. We made this decision based on Apple's increasing focus on security and control over the operating system which includes a walled approach to applications, proprietary technologies to scan for malware and malicious applications from installing and harming your system.

What you should do before December 12, 2021:

1. If you Mac is supported by SCSCF, you can do nothing, and we will remove the application for you on December 12, 2021.
2. If you Mac in not supported by SCSCF or you would like to uninstall ESET yourself, you can follow our uninstallation instructions.

Please Note: If your Mac is not managed by SCSCF and you do not uninstall the application yourself, you will receive a notification on your Mac telling you the license has expired and your computer will no longer receive updates from ESET.
