CMU campus community are required to change password

Day/Date: Before deadline of April 12, 2021
Service Affected: Andrew account authentication, access to all CMU-provided systems and services.
Details: Computing Services has sent communications regarding a required password change affecting the majority of the campus community including SCS. The Information Security Office (ISO) alerted our community in a recent communication as part of their guidance, Welcome Back: Actions to Start Your Year Securely.
ACTIONS YOU NEED TO TAKE BY APRIL 12TH, 2021
- Change your password [Est. time up to 5 minutes]
- Update your password for Email and Wi-Fi [Est. time up to 30 minutes]
RECOMMENDATIONS
Also, we recommend the following:
- Avoid waiting until the last minute or right before the start of a class or meeting to change your password.
- When returning to campus after changing your password, please allow extra time to reconnect to the CMU-SECURE network.
- Update your Personal Email Address—you’ll need this in place in the event you’re ever locked out of your account.
Remember to change your password promptly to ensure continued access to CMU’s systems and services.
